Default Trouble with inserting a Subform within an existing form

I have a form that I have already created that I want to add a subform to,
when I use the wizard it does not allow me the choice to use an existing form
- and I am not sure why? I can go through the wizard and have a subform
populate but it doesn't update with the new information I am adding to it. I
want the subform to show a history of employee items, i.e. performance
appraisel rankings, disciplinary actions, etc. Can someone help?

Beth,

Have you tried dragging the subform you want to use to the form where it
needs to be? You can just drag it onto the form (in designview) and set the
Master/Child linked fields yourself. Which version are you using?

if you open the parent form in design mode you can drag the table that
holds the values for the subform into that parent form
this will create a subform control and a very crude design

don't worry about designing it yet but go to property and click on the
.... next to master link fields,
if a relationship exists between the two tables this will autopopulate
when it is the right link you can save it and then begin designing the
subform

two options; first one see posting from chriske and the other one is create a
regular form with the data you want to be on the subform and save it. Drag
this form from the database window (or navigation pane in 2007) to the
parentform in designview.
