Word has no virus checking function. This message is coming from your
antivirus software - for Norton AV turn off its Office Plug-in. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Hawkeye wrote: How can I turn off the virus scan that MS Word runs before opening an existing document.? |

Thank you for your response. I checked my Norton System Works 2003, Norton
AV, and the Office Plug-in was not enabled. Word has a Macro Security option, which I have set to Low (there is no disable choice) From what I can find this, Word feature is there for people without virus protection. You may TOTALLY disable Word/Office macros by renaming a file "wscript.exe" to another name. URGENT; (Make yourself a note of what you have renamed the file to.) In /Windows/ System 32 folder of XP. |
