Default Pivot table filtering

It would be useful if I could use custom filters (the same as in Autofilter)
on pivot table Row/Column/Page fields rather than only being able to
select/deselect item by item.

My example was when using pivot tables for analysis on part-codes. I have
thousands of part codes and wanted to be able to filter the pivot table to
show only those containing "FG" in the number (finished goods) as there are
hundreds of these codes then selecting them line by line is not feasable.
Adding new columns to my data to work-round this is not the ideal way of
doing it (although it does work). I would like to be able to use data
extracted directly from my operational system rather than exported to excel &
manipulated, as this means the data is not always "live"
