Default Opening of excel files

Hi,

I am having some problems openning excel files by clicking
an excel file in the all the folders. I have no problems
opening files by using the function "open" in excel
window. I was wondering what settings was changed or
corrupted that could have caused it. I also do not have
problems if the path length is short. eg C:\book but once
it it is like c:\doc...\...., I encountered problems.

Hope someone can help me. Thanks!

Regards

Daryn

We see the same things after upgrading from Office 2000
to Office XP on 3 or 4 pc's. If you doubleclick an Excel
file in Explorer, all you get are the top and bottom bars
and the rest is just your desktop. We tried repairing,
reinstalling, unregistering and registering Excel again
and still no luck.
We searched internet as well and discovered that lots of
people seem to report this error, but nobody has an
answer....

Lieven.
