Default Help with accessing vertical ruler

I have no knowledge of Microsoft Office, having just installed it. In Microsoft Word my screen shows a horizontal ruler, but I'd also like a vertical ruler. I "clicked" on Tools, follwed by Options, View, Print and Web Layout but this sees to provide a vertical ruler in Print view only. I'd like to have a vertical ruler while I'm typing a document. Can anyone advise (1) If this is possible and (2) If so, how do I goa bout accessing this?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'd suggest asking this in a Word-related newsgroup.
microsoft.public.word.newusers might be appropriate.

This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.

Since your question is in reference to Microsoft Word, you will get a
better chance for a useful reply by posting this in the appropriate
Word news group:
microsoft.public.word.general

This news group is for Microsoft Access, a database program.
