Default Hide Gridlines in a table does not work.

Attempted to Hide Gridlines in MS Word 2003. However toggling beteen Show
and Hide Gridlines has no apparent affect. Printing the page after selecting
Hide Gridlines results in a hard copy of table WITH gridlines. Online help is
useless.

These are not gridlines. They're borders. Remove them with Ctrl+Alt+U.

Frustrated,

I think you are dealing with apples and oranges here.
Gridlines do not print. Borders do print. If you have a
table with borders applied all the way around every cell,
row, column, and table then toggle Show/Hide gridlines
will have no apparent effect because the gridlines are
under the borders.

To clear all borders, put your cursor in the table and
press CTRL+ALT+U. Now press the show/hide gridline icon
to see the effect.
