Default Why the Delete button in a Distribution List does not show a dialo

When deleting a Distribution List under Contacts, there is no warning such as
"Are you sure... Yes/No)". Your list is then deleted without any warning.

This is an awful design given the fact that when you delete anything there
is some warning message associated with a Delete Function.

Also, the Delete button is so close to the Save & Close button. Another
awful design. This is so dangerous specially when no warning message exists
when deleting and your Distribution List with 100's or more entries can be
deleted without any warning.

Please fix these ASAP.

Why? Because the item can be immediately recovered by moving it from the
Deleted Items folder back to the Contacts folder.

There's no need for a warning. First, it takes only a very minimal bit of
energy to think before clicking Delete, particularly with the "Remove" button
right there in front of you and second, even if you do delete the DL, you can
simply recover it from Deleted Items, just like any other item you delete.

Default Why the Delete button in a Distribution List does not show a d

Sue, I just tested this by deleting a single contact. I do not have a Deleted
Items folder under Contacts. I went to the Deleted Items folder under my
Mailbox still no luck. Am I missing something? I am using Outlook 2007 Pro on
my office PC.

Also, why does the Delete functionality does not provide any warning? That
does not sound like a best practice.

Thanks,
Raj

Brian, I am aware about the Deleted Items folder. However, it does not exists
under Contacts. The Deleted Items folder under my Mailbox does not show my
deleted Contact or a Distribution List. Thus my post in the discussion.

Am I missing something? I am using Outlook 2007 Pro on my office PC.

Thanks.

How many folder sets do you have? The item will be in the Deleted Items
folder that resides in the same folder set from which you deleted the item.
By default, Deleted Items is sorted bu item date and contacts are usually
quite old so will sort early in the list. Sort by the Icon field and it will
bering all like items together. It will make it much easier to find non-mail
items.

Also, why does the Delete functionality does not provide any warning? That

Do you need someone to remind you it's bedtime? People don't need their
programs to be nannies, they need to think before clicking or pressing things.

Of course it's not under Contacts. It's not a contacts folder. Use the
proper view to see it.

either search the deleted items folder for the DL by name or sort by the
icon field. If you use a view that sorts by deleted date (last modified
field), the DL will be at the top of the list.

Default Deleted distribution list but not in deleted folder

hi,
I just deleted a distribution list when I was just trying to remove one contact. I checked my deleted box and the list is not there. Any suggestions on where else to look? I have a large event approaching and this list is crucial. It would really suck to have to recreate the darn thing!
