How do I stop an incorrect email address being listed?
I use Outlook dated 2007 which fills in potential email recipients on the
basis of the name given. However, a number of these are obsolete/incorrect. How can I stop them from being listed? I have noticed that the list offered varies unpredictably (by me). Some times people appear, some times they don't. Where does the list come from? David Butland |

David Butland The nickname list is stored in the .NK2 file. You can correct it by using the arrow key to highlight the incorrect e-mail address and then hitting the "delete" key on your keyboard. You can trigger a check of names against your Outlook e-mail address books by pressing Ctrl-K A folder must be set as an Outlook Address Book, which is done in folder properties, in order to be selectable by the name checker. -- Leonid S. How do I stop an incorrect email address being listed?
The list comes from your .NK2 file, commonly known as the nickname cache. It
only holds 1,000 entries which would explain why it varies as some entries are deleted and new ones added. Note that not everyone in your nickname cache is in your Contacts folder. If you have an old/obsolete/incorrect entry in the list, simply use your arrow key to scroll to it and press your keyboard delete key (or right-click and scroll to the delete option).
