Have I stumped the MVPs?
Dale, would you send a copy of the db with the report issue to
jjcc14 at gmail dot com Jeanette Cunningham MS Access MVP -- Melbourne Victoria Australia "Dale Fye" wrote in message ... Over the years, I've been really impressed with the way that the Access MVPs and others seem to answer almost every post, or at least the ones where the OP is engaged, and answers the questions posed by the newsgroup volunteers. I've visited a lot of the other MS newsgroups, and would be willing to bet that the response rate in the Access groups is among the highest. However, lately, I've had a couple of posts which have not gotten a single reply: Trusted publisher / Digital Signature (http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...-05856f1d2845). With this one, I even reposted, and then sent an email to the Access Team from their Blog site. Still no response. and A2007 Report not evaluation Where Condition (http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...-934229e00e46). I thought this might have to do with using SharePoint lists as my data store, but I pulled all of the pertinent tables reports and forms into a stand-alone application, and it still has this problem. Would be willing to send a copy to anyone interested in taking a look. So, the question of the day is: When you cannot get an answer, even from some of the best Access developers in the world, where do you turn next? Do you have to pay for technical assistance to get someone from Microsoft to get an answer? Pay to join "Experts-Exchange" or one of the other web sites that are basically fee-for-service? Or is there another option? Dale |

I've got it at work, and will do so when I get in tomorrow. Thanks. "Jeanette Cunningham" wrote in message ... Have I stumped the MVPs?
Jeanette,
Thanks for the offer, but AccessVandal pointed me to Allen Browne's site regarding filtering bugs. Apparently this is not new. I was able to resolve the problem by setting the reports FilterOnLoad property to Yes. Thanks again. ---- Dale "Jeanette Cunningham" wrote: Dale, would you send a copy of the db with the report issue to jjcc14 at gmail dot com Jeanette Cunningham MS Access MVP -- Melbourne Victoria Australia "Dale Fye" wrote in message ... Have I stumped the MVPs?
You gotta do what you gotta do. Overall, I've been quite happy with this
newsgroup in the 10 or so years that I've been around and never visit elsewhere. Granted, my Access knowledge is such that I don't think I've actually asked a questions in eons. However, when it comes to ASP.NET, that's a whole other story. There's one particular site that has excellent articles and a forum, however the forum isn't as active as others. So typically, I don't post there. I do have a membership with experts-exchanged and its provide quite useful. Although I do pay for it, for some reason its turned out to be the forum of last resort - which their analysts probably enjoy. At any rate, $12.95 to solve multiple problems has been well worth it. One alternative is that MVPs do get a few free support calls a year for which they can use on behalf of a newsgroup requester. Or maybe give the newsgroup requester. So if you like email me and I'll see about getting one of those for you. Have I stumped the MVPs?
Tony,
Thanks for the offer. I got the report problem resolved (bug in Access that Allen Browne has documented). Let me check a couple of the other resources that have been mentioned. If I still don't get an answer on the trusted publisher/digital signature thing I may give you a holler. ---- Dale "Tony Toews [MVP]" wrote: "Dale Fye" wrote: Over the years, I've been really impressed with the way that the Access MVPs and others seem to answer almost every post, or at least the ones where the OP is engaged, and answers the questions posed by the newsgroup volunteers. Have I stumped the MVPs?
Tony,
Never was able to get an answer or even a nibble about my issues with not being able to create a digitally signed accde file. Any chance your free support call offer is still available? ---- Dale "Tony Toews [MVP]" wrote: "Dale Fye" wrote: Over the years, I've been really impressed with the way that the Access MVPs and others seem to answer almost every post, or at least the ones where the OP is engaged, and answers the questions posed by the newsgroup volunteers. Sorry, Tony.
I've been out of town for a couple of days. Will try to send you the email this evening. Is your email address that is visible in user profiles correct? ---- HTH Dale "Tony Toews [MVP]" wrote: Dale Fye wrote: Never was able to get an answer or even a nibble about my issues with not being able to create a digitally signed accde file.
