REMOVE OFFICE PRO 2007 FROM BASIC INSTALL
I purchased office 2007 OEM with my new system. It came with a trial version
of Office Pro and that has now expired. For some reason this has locked up my picture manager and I can't use it anymore, it just comes up with the activation wizard and wants me to buy the professional version. Now from what I have heard, picture manager should come with all office suits including basic. How on earth can I fix this so that picture manager works once again? I can’t find away to uninstall the trail version of professional from my basic install and I have no idea how else to stop the activation wizard from popping up all the time except to buy it. Any help would be awesome! |

Assuming you didnt uninstall trial, prior to installing your OEM version,
uninstall Office and reinstall OEM "CAFERS" wrote in message ... I purchased office 2007 OEM with my new system. It came with a trial version of Office Pro and that has now expired. REMOVE OFFICE PRO 2007 FROM BASIC INSTALL
Thats the thing, I tried to uninstall and reinstall but it installs the pro
trail on its own. There is no option to tell it not to install the trial of pro and I can't uninstall the trial after the fact. |

Uninstall both copies. Install the the full version again.
Why don't you think you can uninstall the trial? -- JoAnn Paules Microsoft MVP - Publisher How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 "CAFERS" wrote in message ... REMOVE OFFICE PRO 2007 FROM BASIC INSTALL
I have the disk for basic that was sent to me from Microsoft because OEM does
not come with the disk. As far as I can tell all copies of OEM Basic come with the Professional trail. When you install from disk it installs the pro trial for you, does not ask you if you want it or not. There are not two copies to uninstall, it seems there is one. I look under add/remove programs and there is nothing there for Pro trail just 2007 Microsoft Office System. You try to remove it and basic is removed as well...you try to change the features and remove all the ones included with the Pro trial and the activation wizard still pops up when you open the picture manager. This is driving me crazy. "JoAnn Paules" wrote: Uninstall both copies. Install the the full version again. You cannot do that you have to uninstall MS Office, period.
How *exactly* is your Office cd entitled? "CAFERS" wrote in message ... Yeah, but I want to keep basic, just remove the trail of Pro. REMOVE OFFICE PRO 2007 FROM BASIC INSTALL
Anybody ever come up with a solution for this? It appears that Office Small
Business 2007 OEM also is bundled with Office Professional 2007 Trial. Office Professional 2007 Trial is not listed seperately in "Add And Remove Programs", so there is no way to remove. If you uninstall and reinstall Office 2007 there is no option not to install the Trial Version. Access is the only difference between Small Business and Professional 2007. Even if you select "Unavailable" for Access during install, the Trial files seem to be installed anyway. No matter what you try you will continue to get the "Your Trial Period Of Office Pro Has Expired" popup. Pretty annoying. MS Office Online Support was not able to resolve this. After many attempts of uninstall/reinstall, registery cleaning or using the MS Software Removal Tool, the Expired popup continues. The only option on the popup is to purchase, ther is no option for cancel or remove. I don't believe Microsoft really intended for this to happen. What is needed is a utility to remove the "Trial" version. "CAFERS" wrote: I purchased office 2007 OEM with my new system. It came with a trial version of Office Pro and that has now expired. I am still looking for the fix for this. I even upgraded from basic and
still have the same problem....well as far as I can tell. It is giving me a 30 day trial of Access now, when that is finished we will see what happens.
