I am using OS Win98 with Office 2000. I keep getting an error message that states "An ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page. Do you want to allow this interaction"

Looks like I need to reinstall or intall ActiveX again, but do not know where or how to do it. I don't know anything about this kind of thing. HELP!

What version IE do you have? Could be by upgrading to 6.0 will solve your issue.
If you have 6.0, in IE, tools, Internet Options, security tab, click "default level".

Yes, I already use IE6, did the IE6 service pack and still comes up with same error. and already have default level picked. My HP scanner is showing same message. Reinstalled scanner but buttons will not work because of this error.
