Default word cannot display the requested font

Actually I first noticed in Firefox that a lot of stuff (which I
assume should be Arial) is displayed in Times New Roman.

I cut and pasted some of the offending text out of a web page and into
Word. When I tried to set the font to Arial, and go a message about
memory and that "word cannot display the requested font"

I'm on XP sp2.

Ah, this was just the first symptom of my hard drive crashing.
