Default inbox and received messages dissappeared

I was being helped by Dell technicians. They failed to tell me when using
reinstall cd that all files will be deleted. So now I reinstalled office and
outlook. Well I received my e-mail. I exited outlook e-mail. When I came
backto Outlook all my received mail are gone. Where did they go? What do I
configure so that will not happen.
