Default Issues Template and Email

I have made minor changes to the Issue Template to adapt it to our use. One
problem remains. On the template there is a control a user clicks to send an
email message to the person the issue is "Assigned to". The messsage is
addressed and titled.

We'd like to add the same control so that the "Assigned To" person could
send an Email back to the "Opened By" person. In effect, the boss sends an
email to the subordinate and after a passage of time and several actions, the
subordinate wants to send a email to the boss.

I copied the button and then changed every name I could find that relates to
"Assigned To" to "Opened by". No dice. When you click on the button
("Ordered by") it comes up addressed to "Assigned To". I've changed the forms
and the macros so many times I'm about to go blind. What am I missing?
