Default Will Installantion of Office 2000 lose current Outlook information?

Last week I was unable to open Outlook. Received the
msg: "Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook. A required Component
is missing OMI9.DLL. Please install Outlook again." 2nd
Msg: Data1.Msi file is missing. The previous program
amongst others installed on this computer was Office
Premium. I now have a new copy of Office 2000. Do I
uninstall then install Office 2000? When I do that, will
I lose my current contacts, calendar, emails etc. in
Outlook? I have spent the last 6 months inputting all
data in Outlook and DO NOT

Hi,

All of your Outlook data (Calendar, Mail, Tasks, Notes, Contacts) are held within a .pst file. Just make
sure you back up this file before uninstalling or upgrading Office/Outlook. Uninstallation or upgrading
should not result in data loss. However, you cannot predict when any files become corrupt or other
system failures happen. Therefore, backing up your data files is always recommended.

Dear William:

Thank you for your valuable time & information. Hopefully
the links below will instruct me how to back up my Outlook
files without having to open Outlook. Because as
mentioned earlier, I am unable to open Outlook on my
computer. So basically what you are saying is to
Uninstall Office Premium FIRST, then Install Office 2000?
I will have to check out the Microsoft links. Thanks
again William.

Arlene
