How do I go about changing the default margin width for my documents in
Word?

Default Change default margins?

File | Page Setup | Set the margins you want and click Default on the bottom
left hand side. Answer Yes to accept change to Normal template.

Default Change default margins?

File page setup margins adjust then click 'default'.
Save normal.dot when prompted on exit.
