Default setting up a graph in a page design view

I currently have a query that pulls up the price of an item at a certain
date. ( i aslo have that info in a table). I am trying to create a graph that
shows how the prices of 3 to 5 items of my choice have flucuated over time. I
was trying to put the graph in page view, but i am having a very difficult
time getting it to work. Can you provide a step by step dummy proof way to do
this? Thanks.
