Default Inserting Object

I created a table in which one field is an OLE Object Field.
On the basis of this table I created a form.
When I try to insert en existing jpg or gif file into the OLE Object Field,
I just get the icon and not the picture.

The way I do is: On the form select the OLE Object Field, select Insert
Object from the Insert Menu, then select Create from File, Browse to my
Picture and click OK. This works if the picture is a bmp file, but does not
work if it is a jpg or gif file. I do it exactly the way described in the
Access Help File. Of course, I do not check the "Display as Icon" checkbox.

Is there any solution to this?

Thanks Markus

Create a link to an existing bound object

1.. Move to the record in which you want to link the object, and click the
OLE Object field in a Microsoft Access database, or the image column in a
Microsoft Access project.
2.. On the Insert menu, click Object.
3.. In the Insert Object dialog box, click Create from File, and then
specify a path to the file. If you don't know the path, click Browse.
4.. Select the Link check box.
5.. Select the Display as Icon check box if you want the object to appear
as the icon for the application where the object was created instead of as
the object itself. Displaying an object as an icon can be helpful when an
object contains supplementary information that doesn't have to be displayed.
Displaying an object as an icon also uses significantly less disk space.
6.. Click OK.

Sounds like you do not ahve an automation server capable of displaying the
jpg in place. Try with a BMP as MSPaint is supplied with windows
