Instead of trying to "insert" a PDF file into a PowerPoint (which isn't
really feasible), why not link to the file? Put the PDF file in the same
folder as your presentation, put an Action Button on your desired slide, set
the Action Setting to "Hyperlink To", "Other File". Browse to your PDF file
and select it. Now in Slide Show you can click the button and the PDF file
will open up. Once done, close by clicking the "X" in the top right and you
are right back to your presentation.

Will this work for ya?

I am trying to figure out how I can import/convert/insert a 100 pg pdf
into a powerpoint. We've got 100 pgs of overheads that we can scan
through our copier and then save it as a pdf, bmp, tif, jpeg, etc.

I've tried numerous ways of opening, import as file, etc. into ppt, but
nothing is working.

The suggestion to link to an action button doesn't appear to work for a
multi-page document.

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated!

If you can scan them as uncompressed JPGs, or better yet as PNGs, that would be
my choice. Then you could use Image Importer Wizard to batch import them,
creating a full size image per slide. You might want to just experiment with a
couple of the overheads, scan them and download and install the Image Importer
Wizard (free trial, fully functional) from http://skp.mvps.org/iiw.htm

You might also want to read through the info at
http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com...ntgraphics.htm for the best
scanning settings.

What's the connection between the PDF and the 100 pages of overheads?

Have you tried adding the pages from PDF a page at a time using the
instructions at the link below? If you have Acrobat, you can batch export all
of the pages to PNG or other file format and then use Sonia's suggestion to
batch import the images into PPT.

No. PPT doesn't import or open PDFs.

The suggestion to link to an action button doesn't appear to work for a
multi-page document.

What specifically doesn't work? How did you insert the link, what do you
expect to happen when the link's clicked, what actually does happen?

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated!
