How to I back up Outlook Personal Folders to CD?
I downloaded the PST Backup Tool from MS Office Online and installed.
After requesting the backup process and exiting Outlook - i get this error message: CANNOT COPY OUTLOOK The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file. I shut down and restarted to make sure all programs were closed and the same error message occurred. Any suggestions for backing up my PST folders. |

You've checked 'running processess' to ensure OL has actually closed?
Do you have any addins, eg Fax /sync software? "mdp" wrote in message ... I downloaded the PST Backup Tool from MS Office Online and installed. running in the background. I have lots of software - I have sync software for my Treo handheld - hotsync.exe is one of the processes running in the background. You should check in running processess for Outlook.exe - just click image
name title bar to sort it - after you have closed OL. If OL is closing correctly check addins, in OL, and disable any. STILL NOT WORKING.
i checked processes - OL is closing ok. where do I go to check what ADD INS are running 0 what are you referring to - i have an email template, anti-spam and chapura settings for synching with a palm - but I am unsure how to disable and enable and if this is preventing a backup - I am also on a home network with one other computer.
