URGENT ==> How recover corrupt database
1) Shut down Access and make sure no other instances of it
are running without you noticing. 2)Use windows explorer to examine the directory/folder where your database .mdb file is located. Look for a file with the same name as your database but the suffix .ldb rather than .mdb. 2)Delete that .ldb file if it exists. If there is no .ldb file in the same directory as your database then try Tony Toews page http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm Failing that then follow Alex's seggestion and go to PK. Good luck -- Nick Coe (UK) www.alphacos.co.uk --- "SANJAY PAWAR" wrote in message ... URGENT ==> How recover corrupt database
THREE YEARS OF WORK AND NO BACKUP? Shame on you!
In the location of your database you will find a copy with the LDB extension instead of MDB. Delete the LDB. Always work on a copy of the database. Working on the original may make it impossible for a repair service to fix it. Download a copy of JetComp.exe: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;273956 Also have a look at the Microsoft KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;209137 Then have a look at Tony Toews' Access Corruption FAQ at: http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm for some suggestions. Unfortunately, some corruption cannot be fixed - you may need to create a new database, import what can be salvaged, and recreate the rest. Although it's a paid service, Peter Miller does an outstanding job of saving corrupt databases. I registered a database with deleted tables 2 weeks ago. So far, not a sound from them (except for an automatisk email receipt). I have mailed them twice and tried to call them only to find that their phone and fax numbers seems to out of working order. Sorry about any spelling mistakes. English is not my native language. 8-) Palle Madsen |

Peter Miller has been contacted via email. He apparently is out of town, traveling. Apparently, there is a problem with his phone system not properly forwarding calls. Keep trying, maybe he can get it fixed soon. -- Arvin Meyer, MCP, MVP Microsoft Access Free Access downloads: http://www.datastrat.com http://www.mvps.org/access |
