Default cannot set Outlook Express as defualt

Recently I switched from At&t Worldnet dialup service to
SBC DSL Yahoo service. Susequently I uninstalled the At&t
dialup program. Now, when I click on the Mail icon on my
browser (IE6) Outlook Express does not open. I have found
C:\Program Files\Otlook Express\msimn.exe through
Microsoft Explorer and having created a shortcut for it I
can now open Outlook Express. However, when I try to make
it my default under TOOLSOPTIONS, it does not accept this
command, and every time I open Outlook Express a panel
comes up asking to set this as default. I check yes on it,
but next time it still comes up with same question.

When I go into Internet Options Internet Properties
Programs, there is no entry option, like Outlook Express
in the E-Mail box. It is blank.

The heading on top of Outlook Express window still
indicates "Outlook Express provided by At&t Worldnet
Service.

My system is Windows XP, and Internet Explorer ver. 6.

Can you help me to correct this problem to be able to
access Outlook express from Internet Explorer, and make it
my default without having to clear the default query every
time I open it.

Re-register Outlook Express as your default mail program.

Go to Start | Run and type the following:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg
(Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure that is correct)

Make certain to include the quotations marks and the space between the
ending quotation mark and the slash.

Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools\Internet Options\Programs and
set OE as the default mail (and news) program.
