Default Video/audio hardware compatibility with broadcast

I have downloaded and installed the live broadcast (pptbcast.exe) add in for
PP 2003, but I'm having trouble identifying compatible audio/video input
hardware. I have an Winxp system and a Logitech QuickCam Zoom that works
perfectly in every application on my system except PowerPoint 2003. Whenever
I try to select "record and save broadcast" I get an error message to the
effect: "PowerPoint is not receiving sound from the microphone".

I doubt that this issue is a driver or system hardware incompatibility as I
have replicated the problem on two separate WinXP systems.

Has anyone successfully recorded audio/video with a similar set up? If so
what brand and model video input device are you using or can someone point
me to compatibility chart for video input devices that will work with this
setup?

I need to do live video broadcasting. What else is out there?
