Unlinking a table
I have split my database but there are some tables that I don't want to be in
the _be part of the database. Once you have linked a table is there any way to unlink it? Thanks

Unlinking a table
Simply delete the link from the front-end. If you want the table to be in
the front-end, import it from the back-end. Thanks Takes a few steps, but su 1. Back up both databases. 2. Open the frontend and select Tools... Options. Be sure "Name Autocorrect" is unchecked (it's buggy and can interfere with this kind of operation!) 3. Delete these tables from the Table window (this deletes just the links, not the tables themselves). 4. Use File... Get External Data... Import. Choose the backend database and import the tables back into the frontend. 5. Use Tools... Database Utilities... Compact and Repair to rebuild any indexes, recompile queries, etc. 6. Close the frontend, open the backend, and delete the tables that you have now moved into the frontend. (You *did* back up the database in step 1, right...!?) 7. Compact and repair the backend to recover the space formerly occupied by these tables. John W. Vinson [MVP]
