Default Text typing over itself

In Powerpoint 2007 I am writing in a text box and the text overlaps itself.
Especially when I type a "G" the next letter types over the G. Does anyone
have tips?

Do you have a local printer driver installed? Check out:

and scroll down to the section that says "Make sure you've got a printer
