How do I configure Outlook to send/receive through a proxy server
I have Internet Explorer 6 configured to work with my company's proxy server.
(Tools Internet Options Connections LAN Settings Use automatic configuration script) However, I can't figure out how to get Outlook 2007 to send/recieve though this proxy setting. According to this page http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ou...550701033.aspx "The proxy server settings used by Outlook 2000 are set in Microsoft Internet Explorer." But that applies to Outlook 2000 and I have 2007. Any help is appreciated! |

How do I configure Outlook to send/receive through a proxy ser
Thanks for the reply, Brian. As usual it's the space between "should use" and
"actually works" that is giving me trouble. I have only one email account set up in Outlook 2007. I get the following error message on send/receive: "Task - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900): 'The server name you entered cannot be found on the network (it might be down temporarily). Verify that you are online and that the server name is correct'." I can verify that I'm online (I can surf the Web with IE). I know the server name is correct because this account works fine if I'm directly connected to the Internet (i.e. at home over DSL). |
