New Office has annoying features and is still slower on XP than 98
They installed a new version of Office at the school where I work. When you
open a page in Word part of the screen is taken up with a useless box on the right (same in Powerpoint) it just uses up the screen and adds no features; the first thing everyone does is click on the x in the corner to get rid of it. I had long complained that Office is much FASTER and reliable on Windows 98, and does not slow to a crawl like on Windows XP, Office is good on my iMac too, but fastest on Windows 98; however I am really disappointed that this new version adds no new features whatsoever I would need, and that it is still slow on Windows XP even if it is made for it. I might buy Vista but I am keeping 98 at home to get things done quickly, time is too precious to waste using XP, but I hope that Microsoft really do not rest on their laurels and try to make Office on Vista as good as it was around 2000 when we were all using 95 and 98. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes.
