Default Access remains open in the background after database closed

I have a situation where Access remains open in the background after a
specific database is closed.

The problem does not occur with other databases or when "just" Access is
opened and closed (without opening a database).

The problem also does not occur when the offending database is opened from
the network. The problem only occurs when a local version of the database is
opened, whether the PC is networked or not.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply - I'll try it out but am not sure if this is the same as
my problem.

We have narowed down the problem to the following:

If we create a standard swtichboard then all is ok. If we add anything else
to the swtichboard such as additional text or a sub-form displaying
statistics about the databasethne Access does not close properly.

It doens't minimise to the task bar (as in the case where you provided the
link) - it removes completely from the desktop but if you open Task Manager
then Access is still running.

mmmmm
