Default how do i delete a table but not the contents?

I have inderted a table on to my document. it covers 2 pages in word. the
table covers both pages but i only want it to cover one. how can i delete the
table but not the contents so i dont have to start all over again?

Convert table to text.

How you get there depends on the version of Word you are using.
