Adding New Reminder Shuts Outlook Down
I am using MS Officesuite 2002. Out of the blue, anytime I try to
insert a new reminder in my calendar, I get the dreaded "Outlook has encountered a problem and must shutdown" msg, afterwards it does shutdown and then asks if I want to send a copy of the error to MS. I have been using the reminder function for a long time with no problems. All of the reminders that were there previous to this problem still work as they should - I just cannot add any new ones. I ran Detect and Repair, to no avail. I reinstalled the software from the CD (I did not uninstall the old first) and this did not help either. I am reluctant to uninstall the program to reinstall, as I am worried that I will lose data in outlook. I thought I would ask this forum if anyone has ever seen this, or if anyone has any ideas as to how to correct this. Thanks. |

See if the advice regarding /cleanreminders here helps at all:

Thanks for the advice. I ran the cleanreminders and it did not change
anything. One thing I failed to mention, which may have something to do with this, is that a lot of the reminders are birthdays and are not deleted after the reminder date has passed. I was under the assumption that it would regenerate the reminder the next year on that persons birthday.
