Default Autofill problem in Excel Office 2007 using Windows 7

Weird thing... the app is set up to allow auto fill... but dragging only
copies ccontents... furthermore, the "series" selection in the drop down menu
is gray...what gives?

What are trying to autofill?

A single number will not autofill as you drag down with left mouse button.

Try right-click and drag then release button and "Fill Series"

Why is "series" grayed out in dropdown menu?

Beats me.

Hopefully someone will jog my memory................please.
