Undisclosed Distribution Lists
Can someone tell me how to do this? I create a distribution list and add
names to it. I would like to send email to the distribution list and only have the distribution list name show up in the To box after the email is sent out. What happens is that when I create an email and add the distribution list is shows the name in the To box. But when the email is sent out, all the recipients show the entire email list and not the distribution list name. This gets very annoying when the company list is large. I have not figured out how to get this to work right? |

Put the list in the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field to hide things from
recipients. "Xetec" wrote in message ... Can someone tell me how to do this? I create a distribution list and add names to it. Decent work around, however when that is done, the recipients To: address is
blank instead of showing the Distribution list name only. This option does solve the possible huge list from showing, but it doesn't totally solve the issue. I'd still like to have the distribution list name in the To: location for the recipents, that way it doesn't look like a spam message. Any other ideas on a solution? Thanks for your help. Create a contact with the distribution list name and put that contact in the

Ok now when I try this, I am forced to create a user contact name with email
address. Is there a way to create a name without a email address since the distribution list is in the Bcc? To get this to work it seems like Microsoft could have just made a checkmark to list the distribution list name only. So I am still in search of a solution to just show the distribution list name. Even after creation of a contact it shows the email address in the To: location. Could there be another solution here? More help would be appreciated. Thanks. No. Just specify your own address for the contact you're creating. ALternatively, you can use mail merge and then each person would see the message as being addressed directly to him or her. -- Brian Tillman |
