Default Site Layouts

Hi there

I'm new to Visio and I've been told that it is the best program to use
to create site layouts without having to get right up there using CAD
programs. Basically it's plans of buildings, etc. But I want to know
if I'm able to tell it angles of walls, etc. And can I say "this wall
is at 130 degrees and runs for 120 meters", or similar to that. Any
ideas if this is the sort of thing Visio can do?

Also, does anyone know of any good resource or training material that
would give me the heads up on understanding Visio but specifically
targetted towards site plans?

Thanks heaps

Bobbie

You can certain use Visio Professional 2007 to create site and floor plans.
You can use the size and position window in order to provide precise
measurements and angles for the selected object. You can always download
the trial version to see if it fits your needs or try it online.

Start Visio, menu File - New and select the drawing type, in your
case from the Maps and Floor Plans section
menu View - Size and Position Window
Drop a wall section on the drawing, set its position, size and angle,
drop another wall and glue it to the first, the wall ends will turn
red to indicate gluing. Now set the length and angle for this wall
section.
