Default append to a linked excel table

I have a excel spreadsheet linked to an access database when I try to append
a query to the excel table everything seem to work fine but when I look at
the table no data has been appended.
I recive no errors
(I can copy and paste data to the excel table)
Anyone know what could be wrong?

Thanks

A linked table is an *external* source. You can add extra records to records
that don't exist within Access.

I meant you *cannot* add extra records.

If you are adding new information in access that would be appended to the
spreadsheet I can only suggest that you create a union query that puts them
together and create a make-table query.

Default append to a linked excel table

Because of a lawsuit lost by Microsoft about 2 or 3 years ago, the ability to
update data in Linked Spreadsheets had to be removed.

The work around would be to import the spreadsheet data into a table.
Append the new records to the Access table, and export the table back to
Excel.
