Will a COPY of Inbox.dbx IMPORT to another computer?
Old computer will not EXPORT files after a recent System Recovery by CD. I
have a copy of the Inbox.dbx file on a CD. Will the new computer IMPORT the Inbox.dbx file? The new computer is running Windows XP Home Edition and IE came loaded on it. Please help. |

Hi Lewis,
Both Inbox.dbx and Folders.dbx files will be needed for importing the Inbox messages. Be sure the files are on the hard drive for importing, not on the CD. Also, check to see that they do not have the read-only attribute before importing. Create a new folder in OE called Inboxold and access it once. Then rename
the old inbox.dbx file as inboxold.dbx. Then go to Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder in OE to find the location of the message store. Then close OE and copy over the old inbox file on top of the inboxold.dbx file in the store folder. Then your messages should show up in that folder when you open OE. steve "LEWIS MCEWEN" wrote in message ... Old computer will not EXPORT files after a recent System Recovery by CD.
