Default Word Templates

I have a number of word templates, all of them have the same header. Is there a way of setting the header in one file so that if I change that file it will update the header in all the templates.

Also if I have a word document and I want to change the template, which will change the layout, is there a way of doing it.

thanks in advance

You could use an IncludeText field for your header (see
http://daiya.mvps.org/includetext.htm). Attaching a template supplies
styles, macros, AutoText, etc., but not document layout. To change the
layout, create a new document based on the desired template and use Insert |
File to insert the existing document.

Yes. Use AutoText from a global template in AutoText fields, or bookmarked
text in a separate file (or files) and IncludeText fields.

Changing your template's layout will _not_ change the layout of existing
documents, only of new documents based on the template.
