Default Printing Problems

Hi
I have ongoing printing problems:
1) Since installing Vista SP1 I can't print Office docs unless I turn off
UAC. (MS research group is looking into that but does anyone out there have
any clues/advice or other details which might help them to understand what is
going wrong?)
2) If I ask Office apps (ecept for Word) to print more than one copy, they
print the square of the requested number. For example if I ask for two I get
four, three I get nine, four I get sixteen. Lexmark say this is down to MS -
but if I ask Word to print more than one copy it happily does what it is
told. Not so with Excel or Ppt though... I posted this elsewhere in Windows
Vista pages, but cannot access that page at present due to a known MS web
page glitch. So if you see this again and think it is a duplicate - it is but
I am still struggling.

Default Printing Problems

If your printer was fine prior to sp1 it seems a printer driver problem.
If you boot your PC into safe mode, do the problems continue?

Default Printing Problems

Hi
I booted up my laptop in Safe Mode (and also in Safe Mode with Networking)
but in those modes it lost my printer. (Said there was no printer set up.) I
then booted up normally and my printer was there again. I did download the
very latest Lexmark X4550 driver and installed it. It didn't make any
difference though.

Default Printing Problems

Assuming your printer is connected direct to the laptop, it should print
fine from safe mode

Default Printing Problems

Hi
It is a wireless connection to a Lexmark X4550 and it works fine if UAC is
switched off. However I have now heard from the MS research group that there
is a known problem which other people have too. They are looking into the
failure to print when UAC is turned on. I haven't heard anything about the
incorrect number of prints though. Thanks for trying to help. I apprecaite
it.
