Access 2000-Need a good book

Can anyone suggest a good book that gives good direction on creating runtime
versions of Access 2000 database programs? Im getting no where with the
Microsoft books.

Dear Hot:

My standard reply is to recommend you go to a book store with a large
section of computer technical publications. Spend an hour or more looking.
You can find a book with the information you want which is presented at the
best technical level for your study, and possibly one with some other
sections of potential interest. That has always resulted in a "best buy"
for me, so much so I travel 200 miles round trip just to do this.

You need to purchase the Access Developer's edition to acquire the license
to distribute the MSAccess runtime. Microsoft isn't selling this product
any longer. You can try eBay.

You will find the information you need by searching the MS knowledgebase and
the MSDN library. There are many articles including warnings and
instructions since the documentation with the product is non-existent.

PS, there is no such thing as a runtime version of YOUR Access application.
That's an urban myth that will not die. The runtime version that everyone
talks about is actually a locked down version of the MSAccess.exe file that
does not include the capability of making any design changes. The
"developer's edition" as it's called in earlier versions and the "Visual
Studio for the Microsoft Office System" as it's called for A2003, provides
packaging tools and the necessary license to distribute the runtime version
of Access.
