corrupted table

A table in a db I designed keeps getting corrupted, causing the program to
crash. The compact and repair feature does not work, and none of the usual
causes are present - the program is not being shut down abnormally, there are
no networking issues, and the Office sp's and other upgrades are up-to-date.
The crash occurs when new data is entered into a subtable that's linked to
the original table. The database was designed on an older version of Access -
I think 97. The db has since been upgraded to Access 2003. Any ideas?

David, you have not provided specific details here for us to give specific
help.

How often does this happen: daily, monthly, several times an hour?

Under what circumstances, e.g. editing a particular form, or designing, or
coding, or when the power goes off, or when an email message arrives, or ???

Why do you believe there is a corruption causing the crash, rather than a
crash causing the corruption? What message are you seeing? Something about
being "illegal operation... shut down by Windows"? If you check the Details
on that dialog, what program is crashing (e.g. msacces.exe, or msjet40.dll,
or ...)?
