Oh yea, I forgot, if you will read after you click on "KeyFinder" at the
magicaljellybean.com website, it will direct you to "frequently asked
questions". In those questions someone asks why the keyfinder does not find
Office 2000 so obviously, it doesn't work on exactly what I am in need of.
Go Figure.

Any other help you can think of ??

Dear Gary,

Does this mean that I cannot find the information that I am needing or do
you have another suggestion ?

Thanks, Joy

That does not work for Office 2000, nor does any other program that
retrieves CD keys. Apparently Office 2000 does not actually store the CD
key in the registry, even in encrypted form.

If I had a credit card to use, I would have called them like "yesterday" but
I don't and that is the only way that I can use that 800 number. Again,
thanks for your time and help just the same.

No key, no install that works..

Time to upgrade, methinks.. an upgrade only requires a key for the higher
level software, so a lack of a key for Office 2000 won't matter anyway..

Reading the answers it appears that you may not be able to replace the key,
I'm not sure keys for Office 2000 are available any more?

Try this:

http://openoffice.org.

It's free and it's compatible to a great extent so give it a try and if you
don't like it delete it. You'll be out nothing but some time.

Yes, they are - or at least still were as of spring of this year. I
suggested she call but she said something about needing a credit card to
call an 800 number. I don't know why she would think that but I did suggest
she call.

JoAnn,

The 800 number that I have for Microsoft is "fee based", 800-936-5700, you
can only get help for a charge and you can only pay using a credit card.
Maybe I'm missing something here but that is what it said when I called it.
If you have different information, please let me know.

Someone who wrote to me right before your response suggested that I upgrade.
Ya know what, that is all fine and good IF I had the money to do so. If an
upgrade is free, someone please let me know. I'm sure it's not tho. Thank
you for your help and patience JoAnn, you've been great. Hope to hear from
you soon if you have other phone info to give me for help. Joy

Default HOW DO I OBTAIN A REPLACEMENT CD-KEY?

Mike, if you have other suggestions as to how I can upgrade at no cost,
please let me know. I would truly appreciate it. My knowledge of
"upgrading" is that I need to go out and PURCHASE a newer copy of MS Office
or download a newer copy that COSTS and I DO NOT have the cash to do so at
this time, that is why I am running around crazily trying to get the copy
that I already have to work once again.

It crashed a while back and I had to clean the hard drive and then
re-install everything, and well, you know the rest of the story. When I went
to get my MS Office 2000 Pro out of storage to reinstall it, I realized that
I did not have the Product Key to reinstall it with. (the yellow sticker is
no longer ledgible and barely even there anymore).

Any suggestions on how to upgrade at no cost ?????????????
