Just wondering if someone can enlighten me as to why MSO XP SB operates
differently on my desktop then it does on my tablet? On my tablet it will
allow me to voice input opening the start menu, all programs, and running
programs...etc...etc. whereas on my desktop, it will only allow me to do
things in word like dictate. I would much rather use the program on my
desktop, but if it is limited in this way on the desktop then I'll just keep
it on my tablet. Oh and one other thing, can someone please instruct me as
to how to change the signature down below there, it seems as though I've
forgotten how

Thank you in advance.

Just a couple of things,

1. Be patient it could be a day or two before someone has an answer.
2. What other differences between the two installations?
3. Did you try r-clicking the language bar and look through the settings
and properties?
4. "The signature down there" is determined by what ever program you
happen to be using to create and post the message to the newsgroup.
5. Don't "top post" with the -- separator, in your "sig" as it truncates
the rest of the message when someone tries to reply.

Sometimes people need more than 4 or 5 hrs to respond.

Changing your sig file is going to depend on your email program. Hitting F1
won't break anything. ;-)

Sorry for being impatient I do get that way sometimes. I don't use any
email program for posting/responding to posts. When I click post/or reply,
there is a rectangular box that comes up that looks very much like internet
explorer, in fact it has the logo at the top left hand side. If I remember
correctly, there were some profile settings oin the site here that I messed
with to get the signature in the first place, or at least that's the way I
remember it. Thank you for your reply. Do you have any suggestions as to
the other part of my post about Microsoft Office XP Small Business?

No, because I don't have a tablet, or Office XP Small Business. I may talk
to my computer but the things I say aren't always fit to be posted in a
public newsgroup.

As to your questions about the differences in installations, there are none.
If you are asking about the way I install them anyway. I install the
program the exact same way on the desktop as I do on the tablet. But as I
said in my original post, there are things that I cannot do on the desktop
like, use my voice to run a program like internet explorer, and then while in
IE bring down the menus...etc. It seems as though the installation on the
desktop is limiting me to using voice recognition on programs such as word or
for another example, I just turned on voice recognition to see if it would
work in this message. It looks as though it is going to allow me to use it
in this message. So I guess what I'm saying his, voice recognition is
allowing me to dictate on the desktop but nothing else. I almost forgot,
voice recognition will not bring up anything when I say "what can I say".

Thank you for your time.

Navigating to the location you describe, I see a "manage your profile"
link in the lower left corner. Try that for your "signature settings".

I can only assume you are using that HIDEOUS web interface on Microsoft's
site. I set it up once but I use Outlook Express to access the newsgroups
94.9% of the time, Google Groups about 5% or the time and you can do the
math to see how seldom I use the website.

Seriously, if you are going to access the newsgroup often enough that you
want to set up a sig file, use a newsreader.
