Default IE6 send page (or link) by email problem

I tried to send a page by email today from the IE6 file menu. instead of
opening an Outlook Express message window (as it has the previous 1,000
times I've done this), an MSN 8 subscribe window opened. There was no option
to continue to OE. If I "X'ed" the MSN signup window I was back where I
started. The same thing happens if you do a "send link by email". In
Explorer Options, OE is setup as my E-mail program. It also takes 4 clicks
in 4 different windows to get rid of the MSN crap. Is this an "extra
feature" gained from installing Messenger 6.2? How do I get back to the old
(right) way of Explorer behavior?

Thanks,
Rick

Try re-registering Outlook Express as your default mail program (even though
it shows in IE) and see if that fixes it:

Go to Start | Run and type the following:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg
(Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure that is correct)

Make certain to include the quotations marks and the space between the
ending quotation mark and the slash.

Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools\Internet Options\Programs and
set OE as the default mail (and news) program.
