Address on envelopes printing incorrectly
I downloaded and installed SP1 and SP2 for Office XP. Now when I type a return address and a delivery address on an envelope another name is printed halfway between the return and delivery addresses. This printed name at the halfway spot is always the same name. Would anyone have a guess what is causing this same name to appear?

What is the name that is being added? Do you see it in Print Preview?

Address on envelopes printing incorrectly
The name being added is the first addressee I tried to address an envelope to. That name remains the same no matter the change in the return or the delivery address that I now type in. When I type in just a delivery address and print an envelope, this name does not print. However, when I type in both return and delivery addreses, this name prints every time.
I don't know how to do a print review on an envelope. |

Thanks for the reply. If you close Word and start Word by going to start
run and typing "winword /a" do you get the same results in a new document? Also are you going to the Tools menu choosing Envelopes and Labels, and then entering the return or the delivery address? If you are if click "add to document" this should then return you to the normal view you were editting your document in, which should allow you goto to File menu and choose Print Preview. Or were you going through the Mail Merge Wizard? Regards, Ian Baird Microsoft PSS This posting is provided 'AS IS' with no warranties and confers no rights. |

Address on envelopes printing incorrectly
Thanks, Ian, my return address on envelopes is now working correctly. I'm not sure which of the following steps that I took, with advice from others, solved the problem. I downloaded a new driver for my printer (this did not solve the problem). I inserted the Office XP disc and asked it to repair files. I renamed the Normal.dot template. Either the repair or getting rid of the Normal.dot template solved the problem.
