Default Horizontal Flipping of Visio Org Chart

How can I group all of the elements of a Visio Org Chart,
and then flip them horizontally? I am using Visio to make
a Family History Tree. I want to copy it onto an Iron on
transfer, which requires the text or picture to be
flipped. I have even tried to import the Visio into Word
or Powerpoint, however, the flipping feature in these
products gets turned off for an imported Visio document.
Any thoughts?

what you might check is for an option on your printer. on mine if I go to
properties there is a 'mirror' function.

Robert E. is not the only one trying to do this! My printer doesn't have a 'mirror' function; I've been exporting the files to Photo Editor and doing it there but would love to be able to do it in Visio. But HOW?

Actually I think you will have more success if you create this type of
diagram as a flowchart. Flowchart has more flexible layout styles. You can
lay out a portion of your diagram with a specific direction in mind.

Hello Robert,

Unfortunately, I do not believe it is possible to flip text in Visio 2003
so that the text is mirrored. The earlier suggestion provided by Al
Edlund would be your only workaround, but I understand your printer doesn't
have a mirror function either. If I find a way to do this, I will get back
to you again, but in the meantime please do send a suggestion to Microsoft
Wish at

Many thanks,

Hi again Robert,

We have some good news for you. A colleague came up with the following
potential workarounds:

1) Select the shape.

2) Copy it to the clipboard.

3) Choose Paste Special from the Edit menu.

4) Select Picture or Picture (Enhanced Metafile) from the list and
click OK.

5) Flip the resulting graphic object to obtain the desired result.

What you get is a picture that can’t be edited, but it should provide the
desired visual effect. The result may vary slightly between the two paste
options so try both and see which looks best for you.

You can also choose Microsoft Visio Drawing from the paste list. This will
give you an embedded Visio OLE object which you can flip for the desired
effect. You can edit it by double-clicking it which will launch Visio
in-place within Visio, just like embedding a Visio object in Word or Excel.
