With date in A1
=Year(A1)
=Month(A1)
=Day(A1)

Maybe you mean

=DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"Y")&" years, "&DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"YM")&" months,
"&DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"MD")&" days"

Custom format in helper cell
yyyy/mm/dd
="cell address" in helper cell
